A close up of the active chimney on the south side of the attic shows the obvious water stains indicative of a roofing problem.
We did find some staining on the ground floor kitchen consistent with the water running down the chimney.
Looks pretty nasty, but the wood appears to be solid yet. Once I've repaired the problem, I think I'll be okay with it.
The insulation sure makes a mess of the camera lense. This again, is a view looking north from the attic entryway.
On the south side, just east of the chimney, I've just now reached the end, with four rows of boards.
The west side of the chimney is a bit more complete.
Backing up again, the center of the floor is complete up to the chimney. I haven't been able to figure out just what the wide board east of the chimney is for. The rod coming through it appears to be supporting something, but I haven't been able to determine what. Yielding to caution, I've decided to let it be and to build around it. I may cut the rod off closer to the floor and build a table, shelf, or something else around it.
