The MacArthur Study Bible

The MacArthur Study Bible, published by Word Publishing in 1997, contains the notes of John MacArthur, president of the Master's Seminary and host of the Grace to You radio program.

Currently available only for the King James Version, the MacArthur Study Bible includes a brief introductory section as well as MacArthur's notes. A more comprehensive topical index, some notes on the character of true saving faith, a theological overview, a table of weights and monies, and color maps follow the Bible text. Other charts and maps are interspersed throughout the volume, and each book of the Bible is preceded by a short introduction.

MacArthur is conservative, an orientation that is obvious throughout the supplementary text. Choose the MacArthur Study Bible only if you agree with and like his writings. The notes are informative, particularly as devotional aids.
