A Walking Tour of Millinocket Stream

I saw a lot of stuff during my walk along - and in - Millinocket Stream. I didn’t see a single fish, not even a minnow, but I did see a lot of oil. All along the banks of the stream, as you can see here, oil floated on the surface of the water, soaked into the soil, and killed the vegetation.

At least this appears to be oil, to my untrained eye; although some of it is bubbling, as can be seen in the lower left side of this photo, and that worries me.

This photograph was taken along the west bank of the stream, across the road from the Little Italy playground. I have a few more photos from this general area.
