I've added some positioning strips to every other rafter in preparation for moving the crossbeams up to about 18 inches from the crest.
The angle makes them appear to be uneven, but they're reasonably level .. according to the level, anyhow.
At the time, there are only 4 crossbeams. When I finish, I'll have 8, so I think we'll have a structural improvement.
These are not the crossbeams, by the way. They are simply temporary positioning strips, easy to place, and which I can butt the actual 2x6 crossbeams up against. Oh, and it's the perspective -- really, they are fairly even.
The perspective is better here, and you can see that I wasn't lying when I said that they were straight and level. All the positioning boards are in place, and I'm ready to place the crossbeams.
I don't really think the existing crossbeams are intended to offer structural support, anyhow.
