After a long break, we'll soon be putting in a spiral staircase from the north side of the attic to the walk-in closet on the second floor.
The area now covered by the poster is where the unused chimney comes down from the attic. It will lead up from that area to the north side of the attic.
I have a feeling that it won't be easy taking this chimney apart, and I'm not looking forward to it.
Were I to put the spiral staircase in the center of the closet on the second floor, it would emerge to the left of this chimney, too close to the eaves for comfort. To avoid hitting my head on the ceiling whenever I go up to the attic, the chimney has got to go.
