Youth Bibles

Another trend in Bible publishing can be seen in the number of children's, teen, or student Bibles that have appeared on the market. These Bibles come in formats designed with the younger reader in mind.

The choices are many, from easy-to-understand Bible translations, with colorful pictures and maps, for young children, to teen Bibles with the same choices in Bible translations as are available in those used by adults but with special sections that help make the Bible truths relevant to their lives.

Today's youth want Bibles that make the Word of God real to them - relevant, readable, and alive with answers to some of the intense questions that they have about life. They aren't necessarily looking for something easy.

Teen Bibles are available in many translations, each offering a variety of features. Many youth Bibles take the same translations used by adults and package them to appeal to children and teens, adding special sections relevant to youth.

But the Bible has also been translated for kids, simplified so that new readers can better understand and appreciate the timeless truths that are to be found in the Scriptures.

The New Century Version (NCV) is one such Bible, although it has found an audience among adults as well. Another is the New International Reader's Version (NIrV), a simplification of the New International Version (NIV) for children and young readers.

I’ve separated the youth Bibles into Preteen, Teen, and Student categories, although there is some overlap.
