The Contemporary English Bible was translated into popular English, as found in books, magazines, newspapers and television, in order to produce a Bible that could be read aloud with ease. I have Bibles in many translations and while I've spoken to people who greatly enjoy the CEB, I haven't developed a habit of turning to it often.
