  • 1 10½-oz. can minestrone soup
  • 8 hamburger buns
  • ½ cup catsup

  • 2 lbs. hamburger
  • 6 slices bacon, diced and fried crisp
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 can tomatoes (#2 can)
  • 8 hamburger buns
  • ½ cup grated American cheese

Brown the hamburger until it is all broken apart; add the diced onion and cook until it is glazed. Add the tomatoes and simmer for 25 minutes without a cover. Stir from time to time, to prevent scorching. Remove from heat, and place a heaping spoonful of the meat mixture on the bottom of each hamburger bun, setting aside the tops temporarily. Sloppiest Joes

  • 2 lbs. hamburger
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms, cut into quarters
  • 1 package frozen French-fried onion rings
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 dash nutmeg
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 8 hamburger buns

Brown the hamburger until it is all broken apart. Add the nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Add the mushrooms and cook for 8 minutes longer. Toss frequently during this time so that the mushrooms are warmed through. Add the soup and continue to cook for 10 minutes longer. Place the onion rings in a 350 F oven for 10 minutes, or until warmed through. Then place 3-4 onion rings on each bun bottom. Top this with a heaping spoonful of the hamburger mixture. Put under the broiler for 5 minutes, then cover with tops of buns, and serve.
