Deluxe Hamburger Pie
- 2 lbs. hamburger
- 1 onion, chopped
- 24 ripe olives, pitted & cut into halves
- 1 package oven-read biscuits
- 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ lb. cream cheese
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. tomato paste
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. pepper

Add the olives to the meat mixture and then stir the meat mixture into the soup and cream cheese mixture. Add it all to a greased casserole dish. Place the biscuits over the top, and put in a preheated 350 F oven for a half hour, or until the biscuits are golden brown. You might try substituting Swiss cheese for the cream cheese.
Flank Steak Stuff With Hamburger Pie
- ¾ lb. hamburger
- 2 flank steaks
- 1 cup moistened bread crumbs
- 1 package dry soup mix
- 1 tbsp. dehydrated parsley
- 1 tbsp. dehydrated onion
Mix the hamburger, parsley, onion, and bread crumbs together. Spread the flank steaks out on a cutting board, and roll them flat with a rolling pin. Set out two squares of aluminum foil, each large enough to wrap one steak. Place half the onion soup mixture, and one steak, on each square. Wrap the steaks tight in the foil and place in a shallow baking pan. Roast at 375 F for one hour. Slice in generous portions, and serve.
Hamburger Onion Pie
- Crust
- 2 cups flour
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup milk
- ¼ cup water
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- ½ oz. dry yeast
- Filling
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 8 medium onions, sliced
- 8 strips anchovy
- 10 black olives, pitted
- 1 cup canned tomatoes
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
Place the flour in a mixing bowl. Dissolve the yeast in the water, and set aside. Break the eggs into the flour, then add the milk and olive oil. Stir and, when partially mixed, add the dissolved yeast. Stir, and then knead until you have a smooth dough. Set aside to rise for a half hour. Place one tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet. Add the hamburger, and cook until slightly browned. Add the onions and continue to cook until they are transparent and glazed. Remove from heat and set aside to cool. Cut the anchovy into ¼-inch pieces. Slice the olives, reserving half of them for the top of the pie. Stir the anchovies, tomatoes, and half of the olives into the hamburger mixture. Put the ball of dough on a floured board, and roll out into a circle to fit a large pie pan. Place the dough in the tin, making sure that it is well up around the edges. Brush the bottom and sides with the remaining olive oil. Put the hamburger mixture into the pie crust. Decorate the top with the remaining olive slices. Place in a 350 F oven for 35 minutes, or until the crust is browned. Cut in wedges and serve hot.
Meat Pie
- 1½ lbs. hamburger
- 1 large onion, chopped fine
- 1 large pepper, chopped fine
- 8 oz. tomato sauce
- ¼ cup water
- 1 tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. pepper
- ½ tsp. chili powder
- ¼ tsp. sweet basil
- 1 tsp. Accent
- Topping
- ½ cup milk
- 1 cup Bisquick
- 2 tbsp. melted butter
Slowly sauté the hamburger in the olive oil until it is light brown in color. Add the onion and the green pepper. Pour in the tomato sauce, rinse the can with the water and add this water to the mixture. Add the salt, pepper, chili powder, sweet basil, and Accent; and simmer for 15 minutes. Put the entire mixture in a casserole dish large enough to leave room for the biscuits to rise. Mix the milk with the Bisquick. On a floured board, knead until smooth and shiny. Roll out the dough until it is about ½-inch thick. Cut circles, squares, or diamond shapes about 2-inch in diameter. Lay them in a design over the top of the meat mixture. Brush each circle with the melted butter. Place in a 325 F oven for 30 minutes, or until the biscuits have turned golden brown. For variation, you might try adding a small can of niblet-style corn, black-eyed peas, or butter beans to the hamburger mix. Or, you can add 2 potatoes, cubed in ½-inch pieces, to the hamburger mixture, adding 10 minutes to the cooking time.
