For more than 80 years, the Shriners Hospitals for Children have provided quality care, free of charge, to more
than 700,000 children with orthopaedic problems, spinal cord injuries, or severe burns. Founded in 1922, and
supported by members of the Shrine, this network of specialized pediatric hospitals spans the United States, with
hospitals located in Canada and Mexico.
The orthopaedic Shriners Hospitals provide specialized medical and rehabilitative services to children who
suffer congenital deformities, orthopaedic injuries, and musculoskeletal diseases. The orthopaedic hospitals in
Chicago, Philadelphia, and Sacramento also provide spinal cord rehabilitation.
The Shriners Hospital burn centers are located in Galveston, Boston, Cincinnati, and Sacramento. These hospitals have been leaders in the treatment of burn injuries and related scarring
