Overlook Motel

I spent the night of October 3, 2001 in Room 12 of the Overlook Motel in Eagle Lake, Maine.  When I travel alone, I don’t look for much in a motel other than price and location. I was in the area doing some research for my Aroostook County sites, and chose the Overlook only because of its proximity to Soldier Pond.

What I found in the Overlook was one of the nicest motels I’ve ever stayed in, and for a fourth the price of many of them.  The room was beautiful, clean, and pleasant. A patio at the rear offered a panoramic view of the lake.

The patio was equipped with a small table and two chairs.  The room included a bar sink, a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The queen-sized bed was comfortable.

The following year, on October 21, 2002, I spent another night at the Overlook, this time staying in Room 18, one of their doubles, as my nephew was with me. Again, I was not disappointed.

On June 7, my wife, nephew, and I stayed in Room 22, one of the two-bedroom apartments. While more utilitarian than plush, we were very happy with the accomodations.

I think I’ll try one of the lakeside cabins later this summer.

This is not a paid advertisement.  Other than when I checked in and out, I do not know the owners, Phill and Sheila LeBoeuf; they have not asked me for my endorsement, nor have I told them that I was going to do this.
